When it comes to buying a Scroll Saw buy the best one you can afford

While it is true that modern Scroll Saws are highly precise compared to their predecessors, some are more precise then others. Until recently I had been using a Dewalt to do all my cutting, and thought it was a pretty good saw (which it is for the money) however, I was recently able to get an Eclipse. The difference is in the precission, and it is really something you would have to see for yourself to believe. I was already pretty confident in abilities as a scroller, but with the Eclipse Scroll Saw, there is NOTHING I wouldn't attempt to cut.

Upgrading saws has taken my scrolling to a level that I didn't think I could reach, I had no idea how much difference there would be.

Not only am I able to cut more precisely, I actually increased my production, as I can now cut 6 pieces of oak where before I could only cut 4. I figure with the increased amount of productivity, I should be able to re-coup the cost of the saw in about a year.

There is truth in the old saying you get what you pay for
