Daily TipWhen doing shows the way you present your work is almost as important as the work itself For those of you interested in doing shows and selling your work, consider how important presentation is. Lattice panels and card tables are inexpensive to use and do make a functional display, however they look "cheap" for lack of a better word. When doing shows you have to constantly fight what I call "brick and mortar syndrome", you are selling out of a tent (in most cases) and that makes people nervous, what do they do if they have a problem with your wares, how do they track you down if they need to? These fears can be somewhat alleviated by having a professional presentation, money invested in how you display your work will translate into sales in the future. We use Pro-Panels which are a bit pricey, but they are fantastic for showing off your work, and help inspire confidence in the customer. Your personal appearance, attitude and willingness to talk about what you do and how you do it will all contribute to your ultimate success. Treat each customer like you would the new boss at a job interview, and you will see your sales skyrocket. Successful shows are ultimately up to you, while having the people to sell to is important, your presentation is equally important.
