Try unconventional wisdom to help take aggressiveness out of the blade

Some blades are so sharp, or so well designed for what you are using them for they may be a bit too aggressive, instead of automatically changing the blade, try adapting.

There are several techniques that will help rein in that out of control blade. Here are two of my favorite methods:

First, consider adding another piece or two of wood, this works espicially well when cutting in thin woods as well as ply. An effective stack will help to slow the cutting of the blade, the more pieces you add, the more aggressiveness that will be taken care of.

Another method is to "downsize" your blade. Use a blade that is a size or two smaller then what is recommended for what are cutting, in other words instead of using a #9 blade to cut in 1 1/4" oak, try using a #5 or even a #3. you will find that the blade will be MUCH easier to control. You will have to adjust your feed rate accordingly, but sometimes slow and steady will produce much better results.
